Historical performance gives us valuable context, but sports moves quickly. Teams change throughout a season, and our model is designed to account for that changing picture.
Recent team performance and current game context are considered alongside the broader historical information behind each matchup, giving the model a more current view of the teams involved. The goal isn't to overreact to the last game. It's to make sure older information isn't considered without also asking an obvious question…What's happening with these teams right now?
The underlying system improvements specifically strengthened how current rolling team information and ratings are maintained for upcoming predictions while preserving historical data correctly for model training.

A Good Team Isn't Always a Good Position
Picking which team looks stronger is only part of sports betting and ultimately the price matters.
Imagine the analysis strongly favours one team. At one price, that position may look interesting. If the market moves substantially, you're still looking at the same team and the same matchup but you're no longer looking at the same betting opportunity. That's an important distinction.
Our model now takes a more complete look at the actual line and market price surrounding a potential position rather than evaluating the game in isolation. That market-aware distinction is one of the core evolutions in the current selection process.
We’ve Taken Betting Units Another Step
Betting Units are part of the EPH structured betting framework and provide a simple way to compare relative exposure across Premium Picks.
We previously expanded the role of Betting Units across EPH and now we've taken the next step to more directly connect how potential plays are compared and prioritized. That's important because there can be more than one reason a position stands out.
One may have particularly strong support from the game analysis. Another may offer a more attractive price based on the current market.
Our updated process is designed to consider the underlying position and the value available at the current price together, while keeping the strength of the game analysis central to the evaluation.
Betting Units remain a general comparative reference within the EPH framework, not individualized instructions about what anyone should wager.

That's really the bigger story; there isn't one magic number behind an EPH Premium Pick. There are different pieces of information answering different questions:

Why We Keep Evolving the Model
We continue to test, evaluate and refine the process behind our Premium Picks, with the goal of bringing more relevant information together before a position is selected. Some of those improvements happen deep inside the technology but what subscribers ultimately see is much simpler. A Premium Pick backed by a more complete evaluation of the game, the matchup and the market around it.
